Louise Mitchell Robarge passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on January 22, 2017. Louise was born March 25, 1937 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Carvel Rowan and Margaret Swenson Mitchell. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School, and has lived in Spanish Fork for most of her life. Louise married Gary Clarence Robarge on November 27, 1963. She had three children from a previous marriage that Gary later adopted. They were then blessed with two more children together.
Louise was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of Jean’s Golden Girls, where she performed all across the country, her favorite being Madison Square Garden in New York City. In 2000, at the age of 62, Louise retired from the State of Utah, Department of DCFS. Louise was a friend to everyone, and like a second mom to many of her kids’ friends. It was not uncommon at family gatherings to hear Louise say, “Isn’t this fun?”
Louise is survived by her husband, Gary; her five children, Jeff (Cristie) Robarge, El Dorado Hills, CA, Kim (Dean) England, Salt Lake City, UT, Lesa (Jeff) Frakes, South Jordan, UT, Cary (Judy) Robarge, Elk Ridge, UT and Jason (Ruby) Robarge, Spanish Fork, UT; 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; her siblings, Arlo (Pat) Mitchell, Spanish Fork, UT and Colette (Don) Warner, St. George, UT. Louise was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Riley England.
The family expresses thanks to those who so lovingly cared for Louise.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wolf Hollow 1st Ward Chapel, 870 E. Canyon Road, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may visit on Sunday evening, January 29, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, and on Monday morning at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
